As an ex, being invited to your former partner’s wedding is surely one of the worst things you could go through. This types of situation is not only extremely uncomfortable for some, but it could also lead to conflict.
However, a Malaysian man managed to find a way to give his blessings to his ex-girlfriend who had invited him to her wedding.
In a TikTok video shared by Amat Darobi, a 28-year-old photographer, he attended his ex-girlfriend’s wedding dressed as a “ninja turtle” which he had rented for RM50 for 6 hours.
He was invited to his ex-girlfriend’s wedding where he decided to disguise himself and hide his identity by renting a “ninja turtle” costume.
In the video, Darobi explained that he was initially nervous and embarrassed to wear the costume but felt that it was the best way to attend the wedding without causing any trouble.
“At first, I was thinking about how to attend her wedding because I knew there would be emotions involved, and I couldn’t stay too long. Somehow, I had an idea later on, so I rented this costume for six hours.”
During the wedding, Darobi’s presence in the “ninja turtle” costume provided some entertainment for the wedding guests, and many of the weddings attendees even took photos with him.
No one at the wedding reportedly knew his true identity until one of his ex-girlfriend’s friends recognised him.
Despite the initial shock and confusion, Darobi said that the bride and groom were understanding and even took a photo with him before he left the wedding.
“We started dating in 2015 and ended our relationship only last year. Fate had it that she got married to someone else today. I accept God’s arrangement, and sharing the video on social media is just to keep it as a memory.”
He explained that he didn’t dress up like this to “cause trouble” but just to offer his blessings as he was invited to do so. He even met up with his exes’ parents to which he said was the hardest moment of the whole day seeing as how they treat him as one of their own.

Kudos to Darobi for not wanting to cause any trouble and for giving his blessing to his ex-partner despite all the feelings he might have had on the day.
