Taking to TikTok, this netizen shared this shocking finding, where the water tank of a residential college in Sabah was found infested with maggots.
Here is a video of the water tank in question.
In the corresponding caption, this netizen writes: “At this point, going viral is the only solution. We are made to face water issues for a few days now.”
“We found out that the contaminated tank is full of maggots because a monkey died in it.”
“Problem is, some of us have used the water from the contaminated tank!”
Whoah!
Taking to social media the Corporate Communications unit of the university has since made a statement on the matter.
“We have carried out an investigation following the viralled video. We would like to note that the water in the tank is not the main source of water used by students at the university.”
“We have instructed our contractor to perform the necessary. We want to ensure that our students and university members are not put at risk following this issue.”
Let’s hope that the university will solve this matter and no students are in harm’s way because of water issues.
