The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) are in the process of tracking down two men armed with machetes, who are suspected of attempting to rob a house in Taman Tasek Indra, Ipoh.
Based on a report by Kosmo, Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Hassan shared that the incident took place at around 6:40am last Friday (August 5), and that the robbery attempt was unsuccessful as the occupants of the house noticed them before they could enter.

“Police are tracking the suspect involved and further investigations are being conducted in accordance with Section 393 of the Penal Code for attempted robbery,” he said.
CCTV footage of the attempted robbery has since gone viral online as it showcases a man, believed to be a resident, closing the house door on the armed robber in the nick of time, escaping the armed robbery by the skin of his teeth.

As the house door stays closed, the robber is then seen walking away defeated.

It appears that another factor that prevented the robbery from happening was the slippery door mat that helped slide the armed robber back as the resident closed the door on him.
