Dogs are man’s best friend, which is why no matter how little a person has, they’ll always do their best to show their appreciation and love for their companions.
For a homeless man in Colombia, he decided to throw a mini birthday party for his dog at the steps of the Bucaramanga town square.
In a video shared by human rights activist, David Guerrero, the homeless man, who is known as Choco, could be seen sitting on the steps with his 2 dogs, Nena and Shaggy (the birthday boy). He pulled out a birthday cake, lights the candles and sang the birthday song.
Choco then gave his dogs hugs, pets and kisses before he blew out the candles. He also served his dogs slices of the cake 1st, before he cut a slice for himself.
As he ate the cake, he could be seen wiping tears from his eyes before showing his dogs more love through pets, kisses and hugs.
Choco later told reporters that he considers Nena and Shaggy his family.
And may we just add, with their pointy party hats, Nena and Shaggy looked absolutely adorable!
Since the video went viral, Guerrero managed to find Choco!
Based on a report by The Catholic Transcripts, Guerrero has since helped Choco find a job and a place to stay (with his doggies). They even organised a food donation drive to feed stray dogs on the streets!
Thanks to Guerrero, Choco has also started an Instagram page to document his life with Nena and Shaggy. His page, joseluis.matos.7906, garnered 73.7 thousand followers in just a few days.
