Not only is boxing one of mankind’s earliest sports, surfacing around the Mesopotamia era, but boxers are also among the select few who still have all their moves intact despite pushing way above their prime.
One of those examples where old age has not deterred cat-like quickness on his feet and punches that come at you like hungry vipers on speed, went viral on social media when a former pro boxer pushing 75-years-old showed how he can still pound you if he wanted too.
Shared on Twitter by @BoxingKingdom14, Patrick Devellerez was seen working the pads just like how he did in his younger days.
Floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee, the man can be seen throwing left and right hooks as well as a collection of jabs non-stop for 30 seconds.
The video which has garnered 14.1k likes and 3.6k retweets, also witnessed how at awe netizens were at Patrick’s swings despite his age.
One netizen writes, “He’d take out a lot of these modern-day snowflakes. Inspiring.”
Inspired to try out boxing? This might just be the right video to entice all of us to get up off of our couches and start taking up a more active hobby so that we too can show off our skills when we’re pushing 80.
