Nearly 2 months after Jocelyn Chia’s viral insensitive remarks about the missing flight, the American comedian has yet to apologise (and we’re well aware that she will not).
She stood by her decision, especially after claiming that some netizens vented their anger by reaching out to her family members and friends. After a couple of months of silence, a man, Anthony Chia, allegedly Jocelyn’s father tweeted about the relationship between both of them, and the tweet did not take long to circulate on social media.
“It reflects my failure in raising her”
In a shocking tweet and confession, Anthony revealed that his wife, Shirley and him will disown their very own daughter, Jocelyn until the day they pass away. Anthony also put the blame on himself for failing to raise her to be a better person to the society.
“The public deserve better than this.”
As expected, such big news would definitely get the public’s attention but in this case, many Malaysian netizens are not buying Anthony’s story. Some even thought that it was merely another fake account that Jocelyn set up.
“Is this a troll account?”
“You can read, but don’t trust it.”
“It’s my 1st time seeing parents publicly disown their daughter.”
“I don’t buy this. Who knows it’s another 1 of her accounts?”
Apart from that, there are a couple more reasons why the public found it hard to believe that Jocelyn is really being disowned by her own family. If you look closely, Anthony only follows 1 person on his account – the US president Joe Biden himself. He only has 60 followers.
Other than that, in a tweet from weeks ago, Anthony was seen praising his daughter Jocelyn, saying that he’s proud of her.
In a latest tweet today (July 26), Anthony cleared the air and explained to the public about the nature of the new account.
“The reason is simple, my previous account has been suspended.”
Jocelyn has responded to the viral tweet and guessed what? Malaysian netizens were right! The man is not Jocelyn’s father.
As to why Anthony would tweeted such a post, it still remains a mystery.
