There’s a saying about dreaming of a white picket fence, the perfect suburban life with a cosy home and a happy family, all tied to the idea of settling down and owning your own place.
Well, for this Malaysian, she’s taking that idea literally. She took on a personal project to decorate her fence to look just like a white picket fence.
She used PVC edging tape to cover her fence
In a video that’s been getting a lot of attention from netizens, shared by @livinlifebyqaa, she was seen covering the fence of her rented home with white PVC edging tape.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, she revealed how the previous tenant of the home that’s located in Kelantan initially used a sunshade to wrap around the fence.
“I thought it didn’t look too nice, so I did a lot of research on TikTok about people using PVC edging tape. Then I bought it and wove it around the front fence,” she explained.
She wanted an “English garden” vibe
livinlifebyqaa shared how she got inspired by the videos and decided to create an “English garden” vibe, adding flowers along the fence to complete the white picket fence look.
“For me, even though it’s a rented house, we still need to take care of it properly. Even if the owner doesn’t allow decorating, no matter how bad the condition of the house is, we should still try to keep it nice. You don’t have to decorate too much, as long as it’s clean and tidy. After all, we’re the ones living in it.”
She mentioned that she and her family wanted more privacy, especially since they often hang around the porch to dry clothes and take care of the plants.
“Another thing is, as tenants, we should also make things easier for the landlord. If we get the house in a good condition, we should return it in a good condition too.”
