Imagine having your wedding day ruined by hours of blackouts that disappointed guests. Worst of all, no fair compensation was given. A couple of newlyweds in Penang recently had to experience ALL of that, and after multiple failed communications to come to common ground, they are taking legal action.
In a Facebook post by the groom last night (January 13), Vince revealed that he is officially taking legal action to pursue the matter.
“We have proposed to have online discussion but our request was apparently rejected.”
Vince said that his side refused to meet physically for the discussion due to safety reasons and the work they are occupied with. Since no form of communication seemed to work for the management of the wedding hall, Vince tried his best to wait, but patience has a limit, and he has reached his.
“Day after day, we waited patiently and in the end, we decided that there’s no point in torturing ourselves with the endless wait.”
Vince proceeded to contact his legal team to take action against the management of the wedding hall, and he made sure the management got the message. An e-mail has since been sent to them.
Vince previously told WORLD OF BUZZ that they only received RM4,500 as the final compensation, and they were allegedly told to “go on honeymoon” with the money, which would make them feel better.
The blackout was not the only issue. Despite the electricity that worked partially, the newlyweds had to see some disappointed guests leaving the scene due to the heat and the menu that was changed at the 11th hour without getting notified. The management of the wedding hall has also apologised publicly for the matter.
We truly hope that both parties can reach a common ground.
