Whether it be Chinese, Malay or Indian, common respect and decency for all cultures and their beliefs as well as traditions is key in maintaining harmony in a country such as ours. After all, it is our differences that bring us all together as Malaysians. As such, a recent video that was uploaded to social media has since charmed the hearts of Malaysians all over, reminding us that this harmony really and truly is still alive and well.

The short 34-second video that was taken by a netizen from their car that was parked by the side of a road starts off by showing two young Malay girls taking a walk down along the pedestrian pavement.

But what many people have found most surprising and indeed, heart-warming, is the fact that these two Malay girls were both bringing a dog each on a walk together with them!

As they walked past the car, the dogs can both be seen happily waggling their tails as they strolled with the Malay girls. The video has since sparked plenty of praise online by netizens, given how it is commonly thought that Muslims are not allowed to own or to be in close contact with dogs in Malaysia.

Honestly, we have to say that it’s moments like these that really bring a spark of hope for us Malaysians, during a time that is as tumultuous as the ones we are in now. To the Malay girls in the video, we salute you for your kindness and compassion towards all animals!
