Iran and Israel have been exchanging missile strikes as their war entered its sixth day, according to Reuters.
The ongoing conflict has prompted Wisma Putra to issue an urgent evacuation advisory, calling on all Malaysians in Iran to leave the country immediately using any available means.

“We are closely monitoring the security situation”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that, through the Malaysian Embassy in Tehran, it is closely monitoring the security situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
They added that monitoring efforts have been stepped up following the Israeli regime’s aggressive actions against Iran on 13 June 2025, which have further heightened regional tensions.
“In light of the deteriorating conditions, all Malaysians currently in Iran are strongly urged to leave the country immediately using any safe and available means,” the statement read.

“The situation has the potential to escalate”
The ministry noted that the situation remains highly volatile and could escalate without warning.
The Malaysian Embassy in Tehran is currently in close contact with all registered Malaysians in the country. All have been confirmed safe and have been advised to leave Iran as soon as possible.
“The safety and wellbeing of Malaysians remain the Ministry’s top priority. The Embassy will continue to provide all necessary consular support to assist in their departure from Tehran,” the statement said.
