Any parent would feel heartbroken to see their child in a sickly position.
Sadly, that’s the reality for 46-year-old Mahamad Sukri Ibrahim, whose youngest child, 2-year-old Muhammad Hanif, needs to undergo immediate surgery due to heart disease.
“I just want to see my child recover and grow up like any other child.”
The poor boy’s surgery was previously postponed after excess fluid was found in his brain, apart from also having problems with excessive white blood cells.
“After the problem was brought under control, my son’s heart disease attacked again and he needs to undergo immediate surgery. What makes it worse is that his health is said to be deteriorating,” Mahamad Sukri shared.
Sadly, due to Mahamad Sukri’s income as a gardener at a school in Baling, Kedah, he cannot afford the cost of the surgery, which is estimated at RM120,000.
“My monthly income is only about RM1,000 a month while my wife, Salma Man (44), does not work because she has to take care of our children and she also has heart problems,”
“I was at a loss to find a way to cover the cost until a government hospital in Penang referred my case to a non-governmental organisation (NGO), One Hope Charity, who agreed to help. I am very grateful,” he added.
How to help:
One Hope Charity Chairman, Datuk Chua Sui Hau, has since confirmed that his party is helping the family to collect funds from the public and that the collections will immediately stop once they have enough for the boy’s surgery.
They have currently collected RM75,963.91.
If you are interested in contributing, you can check out One Hope Charity’s website here, or you can contact the relevant parties at 016-4192192, 019-2322192 or 04-5399212.
Even a little bit can go a long way to saving this little boy’s life.
We genuinely hope that they quickly collect enough so that he can get his surgery and recover.
