Every now and then, we like to hang out at a cafe just to chill but lately, the cafe culture has been growing amongst millennials as they have become regular spots for those who work remotely. Thus, many cafes have been trying to adapt their design and modus operandi to suit their newfound customers. In fact, they tend to lean towards nature-inspired or minimalistic themes in order to attract youngins to their cafe.
But, one cafe has decided to wage a war against the societal norms as they have created a space that motivates millennials to push their boundaries and #NeverSettle for less. RAGE – which is now open in Bangsar – is an interactive cafe where you can get plenty of photo ops and some really good coffee. We’re not even kidding, their coffee can make you feel all kinds of good feelings!
Recently, WORLD OF BUZZ was fortunate enough to pay a visit to their cafe during their opening and quite honestly, we were impressed. The idea of RAGE was birthed when the CEO (chief executive officer), Jevin Singh, wanted to open a cafe that offers so much more than your typical coffee place.
“We want everyone to walk into any RAGE outlet and feel the close-knit communal spirit that we aspire to create across all outlets.”
Hence, without wasting any more time, here are FOUR reasons why RAGE cafe offers more than just coffee and food. In Taylor Swift’s words, are you ready for it?
1. Building communal spirit with a RAGE Room & a convertible ping pong table
In an effort to build community spirit, they have communal long tables and a “RAGE room”, which is my personal favourite. In their RAGE room, customers can let loose and channel their stress towards the punching bag that’s available there.

Fun fact: The RAGE room is pink because they wanted to break social norms and stand out above the crowd (aka other cafes).
Apart from that, you’ll be excited to know that one of the communal long tables is actually a convertible ping pong table. They will put up nets after working hours so you can challenge your friends to a match.
Onz! Time for a ping pong showdown.
2. They organise interactive activities for their customers to bond with strangers and friends
Besides the punching bag and a convertible ping pong table, the cafe also organises interactive activities – like movie nights and motivational talks – in their space.
Therefore, to keep customers abreast of the cafe’s activities, they have launched a mobile app that keeps RAGERS (as they like to call their customers) updated with everything that goes down at RAGE.
Their COO (Chief Community Officer) Makissa Sophia said,
“Most of what we do at RAGE revolves around our goal of promoting the urge to #NeverSettle. It is our belief that every individual stands to benefit from interacting with other interesting individuals.”
3. They have a delivery app that delivers coffee to your doorstep
Now, the fun doesn’t stop there because you can also ORDER your favourite coffee from RAGE via the phone app. How cool is that?
Their app is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and it’s pretty easy to use the app because it functions exactly like any other food delivery app after you’ve signed up and created an account.

Do keep in mind that to stay true to their 20-minute delivery policy, they will only take orders from within the vicinity of their kiosks or physical stores.
However, by H2 2020, they plan to open 50 outlets to deliver more coffees to their RAGERS. That said, you can also collect your coffee from their stores or kiosks after ordering via the app!
4. They are vegan-friendly and their coffee prices are affordable
RAGE is constantly reinventing themselves as they want to cater to all kinds of customers. So they also serve plant-based food, in addition to their non-vegan food. Pushing to meet RAGERS’ needs, they also offer a variety of alternative milks for those who are lactose-intolerant or body-conscious. The alternatives are:
- oat milk
- soy milk
- coconut milk
What’s even more amazing is that you can expect to get your daily caffeine fix for only RM8 to RM10 a cup in their coffee series. Make sure to try their Cinnamon Mocha because it tastes just like Christmas. ??
If you aren’t a coffee person, you can opt to choose a drink from the Matcha series and the RAGE speciality beverages. We suggest you give their Matcha Gula Melaka a try because you won’t be disappointed.
