There are a lot of ways where you can earn some money, it’s just a matter of how to do so, but in this case, it’s really more about if you’re willing to do so.

What if we tell you that you can receive up to nearly RM4,000 just by pooping?

We’re not joking. A university in Hong Kong is “recruiting” stool donors, and depending on the number of your donations, as well as the condition of your stool, you can receive as much as HKD7,000 (approximately RM3,984) per month. We can only imagine the stench that the medical officers have to go through while analysing the participants’ stools.

We’re pretty sure you’re wondering the same – WHY?

HK01 reported that many human diseases are related to the imbalance of intestinal microorganisms. Some so-called “good bacteria” can be found in the feces of healthy people.

The university is after these beneficial bacteria in an effort to improve the intestinal ecology to treat diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease and autoimmune diseases

These beneficial bacteria inside can be transferred to the patient’s intestinal tract through intestinal microbial transplantation (IMT).

A lot of people can be healthy but that does not mean this offer is open to everyone as the university is looking for stool donors who meet these 6 criteria:

  • Age 18-50
  • BMI of less than 30
  • Not chronically ill or gastroenterologically ill
  • Stool and blood test is mandatory
  • A detailed health questionnaire has to be filled

Your stool is affected by what you consume because you are basically what you eat. While there are no specific dietary requirements, donors are encouraged to eat prototype foods as much as possible daily.

This means no processed food because it may disrupt the balance of intestinal microorganisms.

The selected donors of the “Stool Donation Program” have to come to the Prince of Wales Hospital 3 times a week or more, and provide stool samples on the spot in the designated toilet. A subsidy bonus of HK$100 (approximately RM57) can be given for each feces donation.

It doesn’t state if you have to be a Hongkie, so if you’re interested, maybe this is the chance for you to earn money by pooping?
