Two Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) lecturers were rushed to the critical zone at Hospital Shah Alam after their car was crushed by a fallen tree at Persiaran Tun Arshad Ayub in Section 7, Shah Alam.
In less than 24 hours, a second tree has fallen not far from the original scene. In a viral Threads post, the individual who recorded the incident noted that they spotted the second fallen tree at approximately 4 AM today (17 February). The accident occurred in the same vicinity, opposite a block of flats.

“I spoke to my family about another tree that looked as though it was going to fall. We were wondering why the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) hadn’t removed it,” the post read.
Another Threads user confirmed the incident, urging motorists in the area to remain alert. The process of removing the tree was carried out this morning.
MBSA has yet to address the incident
Both victims, Dr Nur Shahidah Ab Aziz and Dr Shareena Fairuz Abdul Manaf, are from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at UiTM. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received a distress call regarding the matter at 12:11 PM yesterday.
The lecturers, who were trapped inside a Mitsubishi Xpander, were eventually rescued and rushed to the critical zone at 2 PM.

“A total of 12 personnel and officers, along with machinery from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), rushed to the location, which was four kilometres away,” said Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, director of JBPM, as reported by Astro Awani.
Following a heavy downpour yesterday evening, several areas in Section 7, Shah Alam, including the roads outside Central i-City Mall, were hit by flash floods, causing massive traffic congestion. Photos and videos of the disaster continue to circulate on Threads.
To those travelling, stay safe on the road.
