What a week for Nigel Ng, fondly known as Uncle Roger. It’s not only about the launch of his restaurant in Pavilion Elite KL but also setting a Guinness World Record.

Yesterday (September 14), Uncle Roger set a world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as his iconic character. It was Uncle Roger assembled!

A large crowd of Malaysians dressed in orange, the iconic color of Nigel Ng’s alter ego, were spotted flocking to Pavilion KL. The hallmark of Uncle Roger saw about 388 people dressed as the iconic character in the center of Kuala Lumpur.

The crowd celebrated the victory with chants of “Fuiyoh!” – an iconic phrase of Uncle Roger when he’s impressed with the cooking online.

“I feel very happy to have this record,” said Nigel, adding that at first he was a bit worried if the number of participants was not enough.

A few weeks earlier, Nigel announced on his social media that he would invite Malaysians to dress as his iconic alter ego on September 14 to set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Uncle Roger.

The event also marked the official opening of the restaurant ‘Fuiyoh! It’s Uncle Roger’ at the Pavilion KL shopping center in the capital.

We can only imagine the crowds at the mall yesterday, and the hectic traffic!

Fellow Malaysians, have you tried Uncle Roger’s newly opened restaurant? Was it a “Fuiyoh!” from you?
