With the general election so close, this news is the last thing any political party would want.

Recently, a man was tested positive for drugs and subsequently arrested at an entertainment outlet on Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur on Monday night (2 April). Surprisingly, the suspect turned out to be an Umno division chief!

According to The Star, the raid was conducted at the karaoke at 2am where 10 suspects, including two women, were enjoying themselves in the karaoke room.

“All the other arrested suspects had also tested positive for drugs. They were arrested during a police raid that was there to inspect claims that the outlet had been operating without a valid license,” a source told the Malay Mail

The Kuala Lumpur contingent police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) were involved in this operation. All the suspects were then brought to the Dang Wangi district headquarters for further action.

“They had their urine samples taken, which would then be lab tested,” the source added.

The Umno division chief who in his 40s is also believed to be a state party secretary. He was tested positive for methamphetamine abuse and later identified by Sinchew as Bandar Tun Razak Umno chief, Datuk Rizalman Mokhtar. Jeng jeng jeng!

He was later released on police bail at around 4pm the same day. This case is currently being investigated under Section 15(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug abuse.

Well, this news has certainly brought shame to the party, and we doubt he will be listed as one of the candidates in the coming general election because no rakyat will believe the word of an addict.
