Malaysians and the world were shocked when the high-profile murder of North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un’s half-brother, Kim Jong-nam, was committed right in our own backyard back in February 2017.

Now police are on the hunt for two Indonesian women to appear as witnesses in the murder trial!

The women have been identified as Raisa Rinda Salma, 24 and Dessy Meyrisinta, 33, whose last-known address was the Flamingo Hotel in Ampang.

The assassination of Kim Jong-nam occurred on 13 February 2017 when two women attacked him with VX nerve agent, a lethal chemical weapon, at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia.

What made the murder extremely infamous was the fact that Kim Jong-nam was the eldest son of deceased North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and the half-brother of current North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. He had been on the run for a while from North Korea.

Many speculate his assassination was a set up by the North Korean government.

Two women, Siti Aisyah and Doan, both in their 20s, were arrested for the murder but have pleaded not guilty, saying they thought they were involved in a prank for a reality TV show.

But trial judge Azmi, Ariffin said the murder was a “well-planned conspiracy between the women and the four North Koreans at large”. The ruling took more than two hours to read.

Siti Aisyah and Doan were charged, with four others still at large, for the Feb 13, 2017 murder.

The Shah Alam high court has set dates for the women to take the stand between November and next February.

Head of Selangor Criminal Investigation Department, Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat made a statement today saying that as of now, they have yet to be able to contact the two Indonesian witnesses.

In this regard, he has urged the public with information on individuals to contact Senior Investigation Officer, Assistant Superintendent Wan Azirul Nizam at 017-655 6575 from the Sepang Criminal Investigation Division or any nearby police station.

If anybody has seen these two Indonesian women, please do not hesitate to do the right thing and call up the necessary authorities to aid with the investigations.
