Malaysia’s former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad thanks all voters who voted for him in GE15 in a tweet yesterday.

In a Twitter posting, Tun M shared a letter expressing his gratitude to all 4,566 voters who casted him a vote in the 15 General Elections. “Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and greetings. I am sending this letter to the 4,566 voters who voted for me in the 15th GE for the Langkawi parliamentary seat,” the caption states.

In the letter, he said he has no other way, but to write this open letter to thank all voters who voted for him. Although he doesn’t know them, he is happy that the voters have the spirit to reject bribery.

“Although we are not a lot of people, this doesn’t mean that our fight is meaningless,” he shared. He also hopes that the voters are not too upset and hopes that they don’t lose the spirit to “continue fighting for their race, religion, and homeland”.
