Former two-time Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammed has addressed political parties that are led by and comprise of non-Malays as ‘Parti Pendatang’ (immigrant or outsider parties).

He said this during his speech at the Ceramah Mega Perikatan Nasional in Simpang Jeram, Johor.

The PAS Parlimen Bakri Facebook page recently shared a live video of the Ceramah Mega Perikatan Nasional, where Mahathir made the speech.

Additionally, he also insinuated that the racial issues happening in our country are somewhat caused by non-Malays by creating their own political parties and not assimilating with Malay culture.

“We do not see this in countries such as Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia, where there are political parties created for the ‘pendatang’ (outsiders or immigrants). But in Malaysia, these ‘pendatang’ live and receive the citizenship of this country but are still distancing themselves.”

“Even in politics, they are establishing their own parties. This is why there are still racial issues in this country. It is not that we do not like them, but they are the ones who do not like us,” he said.

You can check out his speech here (starting from 35:10).
