Given the sheer volume of Perodua Myvis in Malaysia, the best-selling car in our country for years, it’s not much of a surprise for the vehicle to be ‘featured’ in peculiar viral videos on the road such as how this Myvi went ‘swimming’ at a river in Sabah.
Despite its meme-worthy reputation, it seems that Myvi always finds a way to outdo itself, as seen in this most recent instance.
Myvi casually driving in reverse on a winding road
Going viral online with over 161,000 views and 2,200 likes as shared by @update11111 on X (formerly Twitter), the video depicts a black Myvi casually driving in reverse at an undisclosed location in Malaysia.
Mind you, the Myvi isn’t just going reverse on a straight road, but on a winding one, while at least 3 other vehicles were in the same lane behind (or technically, in front of) it.
Despite going in reverse on the winding road and not seeing clearly what lies ahead, the Myvi can be seen expertly navigating the road without any unwanted incidents.
Well, if there were any unwanted incidents, the video didn’t record it anyway.
In the caption, @update11111 claimed that the Myvi’s gearbox was broken, hence why it was driving backwards.

Malaysians were amused by the Myvi, but almost none were surprised
In the comments section, many Malaysians shared their amusement at the video and their theories as to why the driver drove in reverse, though because it involved a Myvi, not many were surprised.
One commenter said that the driver probably thought that since they had to tow the car, they might as well save some cost and drive in reverse to the nearest workshop.
Meanwhile, one commenter joked that everything weird happening in Malaysia will usually involve 2 things; which are Myvis and orange cats or Oyens.
Besides that, one commenter joked that Domenic Toretto is shaking at seeing this video, in reference to the Fast and Furious film series.
So, what do you guys think of the video? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
