Malaysian singer Neng Baby Shima recently received a death threat on Facebook when an unknown man told her to be careful and watch herself.
Baby Shima, who is currently in Sibu, Sarawak, for her show that took place during New Year’s Eve, received a threat from a man who said,
“You’re in Sarawak again! Beware. Don’t go back to Malaya in a body bag. Take care, Baby Shima,” the man told the singer.
She shared the screenshot of the comment on her Instagram post @babyshimaofficial and remarked that she was on the way to lodge a police report for her safety.
In another post, Shima shared her gratitude and surprise after getting a visit from the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, who kept her company at the Sibu Police Station when she made the report.
“Thank you for coming to the police station to help me last night! I didn’t expect that.”
“It wasn’t me, I was hacked”
The Facebook user was well aware of Shima’s report and has since broken the silence about the matter, where he insisted that he DID NOT leave the threat.
“My Facebook account was hacked. I’ve made a police report about the matter, and I will lodge another report with MCMC.”
Regardless, the Facebook user has been apprehended by PDRM.
Sibu District Chief Police, Assistant Commissioner Zulkipli Suhaili, said the 35-year-old lorry driver was arrested last night (December 31) AT 9:15 pm, and his phone has been confiscated by the police.
“An investigation has been conducted, and the case is being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code / Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998,” he said in a statement.
