As Malaysians and those living in the tropics, most of us are probably already familiar with mangosteens which are mostly grown throughout Southeast Asia. However, this sweet and juicy mangosteen fruit isn’t widely known in western countries even though it is grown near Hawaii and the United States.

Recently, a western female TikToker uploaded a video about finding a sweet fruit, but the inside has a similar shape to garlic. This fruit is none other than mangosteen, and in the video, she happily calls it ‘candy garlic’ or ‘sweet garlic fruit’.

This has triggered Malaysians and, to make matters worse, she uses a knife to cut open the mangosteen. *facepalm*

Netizens Telling Girl To Do Research On Opening Mangosteen

The girl, Michelle, reveals that she loves mangosteen and even asks her viewers to try it. She even had time to ask if any netizens know what the name of the fruit is. It is hard to impress netizens as some told her off about her choice of utensil when it comes to opening the fruit. Most told her to do her research first before making the video.

Yes, she might not know the name and the right way to open mangosteens but we can at least share her joy of finding something so delicious native to our region!
