Local vendors have been affected since the beginning of the Movement Control Order. Even though the government has offered financial incentives, these vendors still struggle to go about their daily lives.
This was the case for Uncle Ali who used to sell clothes in a pasar malam but due to the MCO, his business was affected and he’s currently selling eggs at Gombak, Selangor.
Twitter user @qlawho tweeted about the seller and his son, who has Down syndrome. She pointed out that the uncle sells two trays of eggs for only RM17! Even when it was raining heavily, both of them were still selling their products dedicatedly.
Netizens came through and are supporting the uncle as we speak. Aqilah’s tweet garnered over 45K retweets and one even posted a video of her going to the uncle and supporting his business.

“Buying from them is better for the nation’s economy rather than going to large hypermarkets. Let’s support small businesses!”
In case you’re confused about his location, the uncle does his business right in front of M3 Mall, near LRT Taman Melati, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur.
If you live nearby, make sure to support this uncle’s business. It’s up to us to bring back our local vendors. #sapotlokal
