Along the years, the anime culture has been widely spread amongst Malaysians and it’s definitely a joy to see many Malaysians embracing and accepting the culture.
Just recently, a Malaysian by the name Aniff compiled all of his Ginjinka drawings into a Facebook album.
The said album that he compiled contains 22 photos of his drawings with kuih-muih as his inspiration.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Aniff mentioned that,
“A Gijinka refers to giving human qualities to non-human objects, concepts or even culture. I took close to 3 years to complete all 22 drawings and each of the drawings are inspired by our local delights.
I started drawing my first Gijinka late in November 2019 and my first ever drawing was inspired by the kuih, Curry puff.”
Aniff mentioned that it takes him at least 5 hours to complete a drawing and when asked where he learned how to draw, he said,
“I always refer to a lot of artists from overseas, I would observe their techniques and learn how to draw it by myself. When I was in University, I took industrial design, so you can say I learned a bit about art, but now I’m back to learning it on my own and referring to other artists. ”
In his album of drawings that garnered over 2,500 shares, he included 21 different types of kuih in his series including:
- Curry puff
- Donut
- Seri Muka
