If you’re looking for a new restaurant that offers hearty food and a relaxed ambience, we have just the right place for you. Located in Section 17 Petaling Jaya, Muse Eatery serves some of the juiciest chicken we’ve ever eaten and you know the food is to die for when the place is full house during peak hours!
After a brief conversation with Mr Jackie who runs the place, we learnt that passion is the key ingredient as they prepare everything from scratch. So, here are some of the signature dishes we sampled during dinner that we think you should try if you’re planning to pay them a visit (especially if you’re a chicken lover)!
1. Har Jiong (Shrimp Paste) Chicken Chop
Served with spicy mayo on the side (not pictured), this is easily the juiciest chicken chop we’ve ever eaten. Instead of serving the shrimp paste sauce separately, the chicken was marinated in it for several hours before being fried to a nice, glistening golden brown. Plus, the chicken was coated with cornflakes instead of flour, so every bite was super crunchy and we didn’t get any of the unpleasant uncooked flour texture!
Meanwhile, the har jiong really gives the chicken a new dimension of flavour and when paired with the spicy mayo, it just makes a very complementing combo!

2. Muse Chicken Chop
Another signature dish at Muse Eatery, the Muse chicken chop was grilled to perfection and the meat was so tender and juicy that it almost melted in our mouth. The brown mushroom sauce added more ‘oomph’ into the chicken too. On top of that, the homemade deep fried potato patty really deserves a shoutout as it contributed just the right amount of crispiness to the grilled chicken chop. Overall, we loved this dish as it is very well balanced in terms of texture and flavour.

3. Crab Cake With Garlic Thyme Sauce
This is certainly one of the more eye-catching dishes as it’s not common in Malaysian restaurants. Since the crab cake is made from real crab meat, we could really taste the sweetness of the meat and when paired with the pool of garlic thyme sauce below it, the whole dish just comes to life!
Not to mention, the fluffy homemade potato cake also lends an interesting flavour and texture to this dish, which we’d sum up as a beautifully seasoned meal you’d want to have after a long day at work.

Once we were done with the main course, Muse Eatery treated us to their homemade desserts and got us salivating again. All of their desserts are homemade and the secret ingredient this time around is love. Here are the sweet treats we tried (and loved):
1. Signature Baked Cheesecake
The profound cheese flavour really shines through here and the burnt layer provides a hint of bitterness that cuts through the richness of the cheesecake. Overall, it’s a well-done cheesecake but we prefer it just a little creamier. We were told that on weekends, the crew would increase the production of this cheesecake because it’s a crowd favourite!

2. Cookies Skillet With Ice Cream
If you love the juxtaposition of warm and cold desserts, try this! The baked chocolate chip cookie is served warm and its texture is dreamily soft and moist especially in the centre. Eat it together with the icy-cold vanilla ice cream on top and your taste buds will thank you for that delicious hot-and-cold sensation that’s also somewhat soothing – something we’d recommend on a rainy day!

3. Signature Tiramisu (Alcohol-free)
Out of the three desserts, this is perhaps one of our favourites as the balance between the sweetness and the caffeine is just right. In short, this is the perfect pick-me-up dessert for coffee lovers who prefer their Tiramisu sans any alcohol too.
Rating: 4.5/5
All in all, we’d say Muse Eatery is a place where you can satisfy your comfort food cravings, be it the savoury or sweet kind. Plus, if you have a big appetite, you’ll like the fact that the serving size here is pretty generous! Interior wise, it’s nothing short of comfy and for all your friends who love a photogenic background for their IG feed, it’s Insta-worthy too!
