We have gone through so many food trends this year. To sum it up, it’s basically everything salted egg and boba (still ongoing).
However, this ice-cream parlour in Penang is trying to switch things up by introducing some really local, authentic Malaysian flavours, including Super Ring.
Judging by the picture, there are around 7 flavours, which are tau sar piah (Tambun biscuits), bandung, nutmeg, oreo salted egg yolk, teh tarik, Super Ring and kaya toast (with croutons inside!). WHAT!
This ice-cream parlour started operating in 2016 and the whole idea behind this business was that there were not enough Malaysian flavours of ice-cream. So they thought, why not?
Merry Me started off with 2 amazing flavours, Gula Melaka, and Salted Egg Oreo, which remain top hits till today.
In May 2017, they decided to widen their range of Malaysian inspired ice-cream, doing some research and testing pver a period of 1 year! What dedication!
In the end, they came up with 7 new flavours that everyone seemed to like. From then on, they’ve been releasing flavour after flavour.
Other than the flavours listed up there, there is also soursop, kacang tumbuk, cham peng, white coffee and tau fu fah ice-cream!
All their ice-creams are hand made without any artificial colour or flavourings and are definitely halal!
Now you guys know where you can go and get your ice-cream fix in Penang.
