Chinese New Year (CNY) is steeped in tradition– tossing yee sang for abundance and prosperity, dressing in auspicious colours, setting off firecrackers to “scare away evil spirits” and so on.
These traditions are what make CNY so special and important. However, it doesn’t mean that we can’t try new things and form new traditions!
Nobu Kuala Lumpur recently announced these specialty items for their CNY festive menu and we’re here for it!
Lobster Prosperity Platter
For a fresh twist to the traditional yee sang, go try the restaurant’s refreshing Lobster Prosperity Platter.
Instead of the usual raw pieces of salmon, Nobu’s take on the classic dish incorporates huge chunks of lobster meat and an appetising bright-yellow sour plum sauce.
It also features premium ingredients such as beetroot, pistachio nuts and Japanese grapes that all come together in your mouth in a burst of flavor.
Suitable for two to four people, it’s the perfect dish for sharing and will leave you wanting more after the first bite!
Osusume desserts
Osusume means “recommended” in Japanese so you KNOW that these desserts will be poppin’!
Specially crafted by Nobu chefs for an enchanting CNY experience, the desserts look elegant with vibrant CNY colours, yet have comforting hints of mandarin orange, green tea, caramel and chocolate.
“Malaysians know how highly Chinese New Year food is revelled within the country; a true celebration of history, happiness and love in a bite. That is exactly what we want to translate to our guests with this festive menu – A Prosperity Platter and five Osusume desserts that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Chinese New Year, done the Nobu way,” said Alexander Tito, General Manager of Nobu Kuala Lumpur.
