To have your house and your family threatened by loan sharks is certainly something that no one wants to go through.
Recently, a 22-year-old woman living in Johor by the name of Ling Ling has shared that loan sharks started threatening their household in February.
According to Sinar Harian, the family were threatened the first time on the night of February 1 when their car was set on fire.
During the second threat which took place in the wee hours of the morning on February 27, Ling Ling was at a restaurant when she received a CCTV notification.
When she checked it, she found that her porch was on fire and she quickly called her father who was at home to put it out.
Her father had heard the screams of their neighbours as well and moved quickly to stop the fire from spreading.
Due to these threats, the family had to spend quite some money to repair the areas affected.
In the CCTV footage, we can see 3 men in a white car who threw 2 objects: 1 resembling a petrol bomb while another, a firestarter, towards their house which caused the fire.
“I’m thankful that the fire did not spread and all my family members and neighbours are safe.”
Ling Ling added that before this, she had done a search of her home address on Facebook and found a post from a man named Lee who posted a picture of a man named Khoo.
It is said that Khoo was the previous tenant of the house that Ling Ling is currently staying in and had borrowed money from Lee who is believed to be a loan shark.
The young woman clarifies that they have no relations with the man named Khoo.
“We are not involved in the money borrowing and we have already lived here for 10 years. They are getting out of hand and even the neighbours are terrified.”
Ling Ling has since lodged a police report and hopes that the suspects will be arrested soon.
This certainly seems hellish. We hope that justice will prevail.
