Workplace sexual harassment has long been a prevalent issue. Whether it’s physical or verbal, many of us have witnessed or experienced such incidents in the office.
In a recent tweet by user @meinmokhtar, he shared a post that has gained attention online. A 25-year-old woman anonymously shared her ordeal on NGL.
The 25-year-old shared how she recently started at a new company, and that she feels deeply uncomfortable because of the inappropriate behavior of her male co-workers.
In her post, she describes being objectified by her male co-workers who made inappropriate comments, specifically targeting her natural feature of having full lips.
Unfortunately, it didn’t end there, these male co-workers frequently make suggestive remarks, hinting at inappropriate activities related to her lips. Feeling increasingly uncomfortable, she is even considering resigning from her job.
Netizens swiftly filled the comment section, with some offering suggestions on what the woman should do.
“This is clearly sexual harassment. Don’t give them a chance. If you have the opportunity to record, use it as proof. If not, ask other colleagues to be your witnesses. File a report with HR and keep the CEO in the loop as well. If HR doesn’t take action, consider making a police report instead.”
“Anon, you should report straight to HR. Making a report doesn’t mean you’re the problem or you’re at fault. You have every right to work in a safe workplace. I’m scared if you stay quiet, it’s gonna turn into physical harassment. Please secretly record the conversation as evidence.”
“I can guarantee that if you make a police report, those men will be behind bars. It’s always better to have proof. People like this need to be taught a lesson.”
