After Good Vibes Festival got cancelled, many vendors and acts are scrambling about as they had prepared for GVF. The Kid Laroi who is the headliner for Day 2 had done a mini-concert at a hotel bar.
Now, many people were anticipating The Strokes and were disappointed when the music festival was cancelled, however, there still seems to be some hope left according to The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas’ Instagram post.
In the post, he apologised as he heard that the festival got cancelled and he acknowledged the fans next.
“Just heard the festival was cancelled and I know you’ve been waiting 20 years for The Strokes to come play.”
However, his last statement certainly gave hope to lots of fans:
“Currently trying to figure something out, hang on. One way or another will let you know soon.”
Many fans were appreciative of the gesture and Rumah Tangsi, a cultural & heritage centre event space had offered themselves as the venue.
In their Instagram post, they say: “We would like to invite The Strokes to come to our venue and perform tomorrow night for FREE and save thousands of your local fans here!!”
“Good Vibes Festival & Future Sound Asia, we gotong-royong together. No need to have a full setup. Guerilla street style. We have 24 hours to make things happen!”
Be it as it may, some comments speculated that the band had already left for Japan which is where their next show will be at. The show after that will be in Singapore on 2 August so they will be around the same region!
We’re crossing our fingers and toes for The Strokes live in Malaysia. We’ll definitely be checking their social media updates religiously in these 2 weeks.
