When parents name their babies, they take many things into account. However, some parents name their babies after things they like, such as their favourite TV series or even animes!
On the southern Philippine island of Mindanao, this father in Davao City has named his child Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze as a shoutout to his favourite anime character, Naruto.
If you’re wondering where the Namikaze came from, it was Naruto’s biological father’s family name and Uzumaki is Naruto’s biological mother’s family name.
In a post by One Mindanao ( a local media portal) that has gone viral on Facebook with 6.4k shares, we see little Naruto at his 1st birthday party and christening.
According to the post, Naruto was born on 13 June 2020. His father, Jamesey Maribojo, said he decided on that name as his favourite anime series is Naruto Shippuden.
In an interview with Brigada PH, he said,
“In the plot of Naruto Shippuden, Narito did not have a family to grow up with and I am a single father who took care of my baby 24/7.”
He added that at first, he did not feel satisfied when putting in just Naruto as his name so he added the Uzumaki and Namikaze.
Many netizens were amused by this child’s name and said that he will be Davao’s future Hokage.
However, other parents are very much against this.
“I pity those who will be named Peppa Pig.”
“Sometimes the parents are only thinking about themselves and for their own interests without considering their child.”
“This child will complain in 4 years, complaining that their name is too long to write.”
FYI, this child’s name is Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze P. Maribojo. Although it is a unique name, it will take quite a while to write.
