A Thai woman took home six million baht (RM790,445) after she won the lottery by interpreting her son’s dream.

Mrs Tithiya Bantaohome is a hawker from Udon Thani, Thailand. In March, her son’s best friend had passed away and was wearing a shirt that had the numbers 1970 on them, reported Thai daily, Khaosod.

Mrs Bantaohome’s son said that he had a dream where his late friend visited him wearing the same shirt and talked to him.

In the dream, the friend asked her son, “Why are you still struggling? Why aren’t you rich yet?”

The friend then threw a sack of rice filled with cash towards him.

After her son had told her his dream, Mrs Bantaohome bought a lottery ticket with the numbers ‘472270’ at Kasikorn Bank.

She said she went to the market as usual and upon walking through the lottery store, she decided to buy a ticket, reported Matichon.

After the Government Lottery Office draw, Mrs Bantaohome was announced as the winner of the first place reward on 1 April!

And no, it wasn’t an April Fool’s joke.

According to Thaiger, Thais can be very superstitious when it comes to the lottery. Many will use numbers that they see in dreams, or use dates or ages to buy lottery tickets.

Some have even chosen numbers after rare or miraculous events, like using numbers from a car licence plate if a woman gives birth in the car.
