A Lamborghini owner in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, had his luxury vehicle seized by Road Transport Department (JPJ) officers yesterday (August 19). The latter were patrolling the town yesterday morning during an operation known as Op Luxury when they encountered the Lamborghini, and told the luxury car driver through a loudspeaker to pull over.
However, the driver refused, prompting the JPJ officers to tail the vehicle for nearly 1 kilometre.

The car then seemingly slowed down at Kampung Gong Kapas, as if the driver wanted to stop and step out of the car. When the JPJ officers slowed down their vehicle, the Lamborghini stepped on the clutch and sped off, but to no avail. The officers managed to stop him.
The 34-year-old driver, who also runs a cosmetic product business, was told to drive his vehicle to the JPJ office for inspection.
It was later revealed that the Lamborghini driver had not renewed his road tax, which expired in May.
His insurance for the vehicle had also expired, and the vehicle registration number also did not follow the permitted specifications.
According to Mohd Zamri Samion, Director of Terengganu JPJ, the luxury car is currently under the possession of the state JPJ, reported Kosmo and Harian Metro.

Zamri also said that other luxury vehicles seized in the same operation were a Nissan Fairlady, Toyota Vellfire, BMW 523i, Land Cruiser Prado, Lexus NX300, and Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle owners did not carry valid road taxes and insurance.
8 confiscation notices and 13 compounds for expired road taxes were issued by JPJ.
