The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, is no stranger to being a fatherhood as His Highness has 10 children (including an adopted son). With all the love His Highness has for his children, His Highness couldn’t help but break down during a speech in conjunction with his daughter’s wedding.
The Tengku Ampuan Pahang TikTok page recently showcased the bittersweet video of Al-Sultan Abdullah choking up and crying during His Highness’s speech about Tengku Puteri Raja, Tengku Puteri Afzan Aminah Hafidzatullah’s nuptials that will take place starting tomorrow (August 22) until August 25 (Sunday) in Kuantan.
Tengku Ampuan Pahang wrote, “The weight of a father letting go of his beloved princess.”
During the speech, His Highness, with his son; Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah by His Highness’s side, shared well wishes for the upcoming wedding.
“May the ceremony be smooth, full of blessings, and accepted by Allah, and may the marriage bond that is to be formed remain strong…” His Highness said before choking up. Al-Sultan Abdullah then started crying and had to repeatedly wipe away tears.
Unable to proceed with the speech, His Highness prompted Tengku Hassanal to step in and help complete his father’s well wishes.
“…and lasts until Jannah, Insyaallah. Let us also pray that the state of Pahang Darul Makmur and its people continue to be safeguarded and protected by Allah SWT,” Tengku Hassanal said before ending the speech with 2 poems.
After gathering His Highness’s feelings, Al-Sultan Abdullah managed to take over again and cracked a joke about the situation.
This truly is a show of how much Al-Sultan Abdullah loves His Highness’s children.
