When visiting Southeast Asia, you should definitely consider adding Malaysia to your bucket list. As locals, we take great pride in our country, which offers a rich tapestry of attractions blending both the old and the new.
So it’s understandable why Malaysia has earned its place among the most visited countries in the world, surpassing even Singapore, Indonesia, and others!
Malaysia bumps up from 15th last year to 14th this year!
According to WP Travel, Malaysia has moved up to secure the 14th spot worldwide in 2024 with 26.1 million tourist arrivals, compared to 20.14 million arrivals last year when it held 15th place.
Based on Data Panda‘s findings, France leads as the most visited country worldwide, with an impressive total of 89.4 million tourist arrivals. Spain follows closely behind with 83.7 million tourists, and the US takes 3rd place with 79.3 million tourists.
Thailand secures 11th place worldwide and leads Southeast Asia with a total of 39.8 million tourists, surpassing Malaysia, which holds 2nd place.
Malaysia remains as one of the top honeymoon destinations
According to Insider Monkey, tourist arrivals from Turkey to Malaysia had an increase of 10.8% from January to November 2023, totaling 15,623 visitors compared to figures from 2019.
We owe thanks to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture for their efforts in contributing to Malaysia’s growth. In 2024, Malaysia continues to be highly favoured as a top honeymoon destination!
