Study: Kuala Lumpur is the 7th Hottest City in Southeast Asia

With recent news predicting an upcoming heatwave, it’s certainly got us feeling a certain kind of way. The scorching weather has been relentless, and most Malaysians are definitely feeling the heat.

In other news, @seasia.stats shared a recent update on the weather which places Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at 7th on the list of ‘Hottest Temperature Cities in Southeast Asia’.

2024 might be the warmest year!

According to the weather update by AccuWeather, the temperature in Yangon, the major city of Myanmar, is currently ranked as the hottest city in Southeast Asia.

It maintains the highest temperature among other major cities in Southeast Asia, with a maximum temperature reaching 39°C, while Bangkok follows closely in 2nd place at 38°C.

Kuala Lumpur is coming in hot as it takes the 7th spot with a temperature of 34°C, closely followed by Singapore in 8th place, Bandar Seri Begawan in 9th place, and Jakarta in 10th, all 3 recording a temperature of 33°C.

The temperature is forecasted to climb further to 45.9°C, with the scorching conditions expected to linger for the next few days.

Given the circumstances, we think it might be best to stay indoors and crank up the air conditioner for a while!

1. Yangon, Myanmar – 39°C

2. Bangkok, Thailand – 38°C

3. Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam – 36°C

4. Manila, Philippines – 36°C

5. Phnom Penh, Cambodia – 36°C

6. Vientiane, Laos – 36°C

7. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 34°C

8. Singapore – 33°C

9. Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei – 33°C

10. Jakarta, Indonesia – 33°C

11. Dili, Timor-Leste – 31°C
