Having a personal driver to chauffeur you around makes things a lot easier for you. It’s not easy to drive around because it’s energy-consuming, especially if you’re driving long distances.

In the Facebook group 怡保寻找工作 Ipoh Jobs Finder, a Malaysian woman recently shared a job posting for a personal driver that she’s looking to drive her mum around, which she dubbed a simple job. The pay, however, is not what you have in mind.

She is only going to pay RM500 per month to her driver who is expected to work 6 days a week – Monday to Saturday for 8 hours.

The job scope is pretty much the same every day, with a few hours in between where the driver will be free to do anything during his “break time”.

“Send my mum to the market around 9 in the morning, and then to the alteration shop, and then for breakfast before catching up with her friends. At around 12PM, send her back home to my grandma’s house.”

After 12 PM, the driver is free to do what he wants until around 5 PM when he will have to fetch the woman’s mum again.

“Around 5 PM, just fetch her back to my house. It’s not far,” Angel said.

This means that he has around 4 to 5 hours of break time, with similar routines every day. However, he is expected to be on standby on Sundays, just in case Angel’s mum needs a ride.

“We’ll give you RM200 for fuel, and an increment of RM500 after 6 months.”

Angel also expected the driver to be responsible and have good habits and temper, as well as good communication skills.

To those who love driving people around, what do you think of the offer?
