We all had our fair share of encountering home pests in our lives like cockroaches, rats, mites, etc. But this Singaporean woman had been seriously disturbed by BIRDS for the past 30 years, and she just could not stand it anymore.
The woman from Yishun decided to HANG a live mynah bird (that she caught in her home) on the laundry rod outside the window of her flat unit. Since this incident that occurred two weeks ago, many people were alarmed by her doing and it even went on the news. Her son was beyond shocked to hear about it as well, and he wanted to apologise on behalf of her.
He also explained that she did this to “scare off” the other mynah birds and prevent them from flying into her home. Apparently, the birds had been invading her home by flying into the kitchen and pooped in her home! Not only that, she’d complained about the birds’ noise, too.
The 30-year-old son hoped everyone would understand his mother’s trouble as she had been severely bothered by them for a long time. She had also tried closing the windows, but it made her home stuffy and hot. Besides, he mentioned that she wasn’t trying to abuse the mynah, although he agreed that her act was wrong.
Authorities took immediate action by visiting their home, and the woman set the bird free upon request. She also promised not to repeat her mistake in the future.
Apparently, a few residents from the building complained about the same issue as well. While they made reports to the authorities to fix this problem, they were also advised to install nets to prevent the birds from entering their homes. A resident revealed that she spotted someone feeding stray cats around the building, which could be the reason why the birds would hang around that area as well.
Yikes! Hopefully, the mynah issue would be solved ASAP because it sure doesn’t seem comfortable to live like this.
