The Dewan Rakyat session was in chaos after Perikatan Nasional’s Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang (PN- Marang) claimed that Kuala Lumpur is in terrible hands under DAP and Pakatan Harapan’s rule, while debating the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) today (August 13).
According to a report by Berita Harian, his claim had angered 2 Government MPs, namely RSN Rayer (PH – Jelutong) and Chong Zhemin (PH – Kampar), who raised Standing Order 36(1) by stating that Hadi did not mention anything about RMK13 in his debate.

This triggered Opposition MPs, while Rayer requested advice from the Speaker in regards to Standing Order 36(4).
“I am here to listen to Yang Berhormat Marang’s message as a respected teacher from the PAS party. We respect him as a party leader. As a respected PAS leader, why did Marang have to issue a statement that Kuala Lumpur is a problematic place because there are DAP, Barisan Nasional (BN) and PH?” he asked.
A verbal spat between the Government and Opposition MPs then went on for 3 minutes, causing Pulai MP, Suhaizan Kaiat, to attempt to calm the situation.
“Schoolchildren!”
Considering the situation was getting out of control, the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, Tan Sri Johari Abdul, took over the debate session and gave all the MPs a stern warning.
“I have schoolchildren in front of me! I hear from the chamber, cursing and using inappropriate words; everything is inappropriate. If we want this country to progress, the leaders must progress. This cannot be the case. With all due respect to senior leaders, both parties have been in Government. So, please,”
“What is this? What kind of people’s representatives are these? Embarrassing people. You are all very embarrassing. Even the old people, you’re not children, but you want to fight. No one should get up after this!” he scolded.
