What if we told you that you could have a mountain of sashimi for only RM28? Well, that is exactly what you can get at Shinmatto’s pop-up store in Kuala Lumpur!
Having previously operated as a fish market, Shinmatto certainly know their stuff when it comes to selecting the freshest, highest-quality seafood. Consequently, their net price of RM28 for their DIY Chirashi Don is being hailed as an absolute steal, attracting both Malaysian and Japanese customers alike.

During their first week of operating the pop-up, their DIY Chirashi Don sold out within just two hours!
How the promotion works

For only RM28, customers are provided with a bowl of seasoned Japanese rice and given 60 seconds to pile their bowls as high as possible with their choice of sashimi.
However, there is a catch.
If, at any point, your sashimi mountain tumbles, your 60 seconds will automatically be over. So, build your mountain carefully!

For this promotion, Shinmatto have curated a stunning selection of seafood, including Salmon, Kuruma Ebi (tiger prawns), Hamachi (yellowtail), Shirasu (anchovies), Tobiko (flying fish roe), and their special Yuko-Tai (Yuzu-fed red sea bream).
As the first to bring Yuko-Tai to Malaysia, they offer a highly prized fish that boasts a unique citrus tanginess due to its diet of Yuzu.
Only two weekends left!

Operating only on Saturdays and Sundays, the RM28 DIY Chirashi Don promotion will run until 1 March (Sunday). This means you only have two more weekends to experience this before Shinmatto launch a permanent outlet at the same location.
Shinmatto’s pop-up is located on the 2nd floor of The Pocket (note: the entrance is via the back alley of the building) in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. They start serving at 11:30 AM and stay open until 8:00 PM, though they often sell out much earlier. It is highly recommended to arrive early to avoid disappointment!
Shinmatto does not serve pork or alcohol. For more information, visit their Instagram page here.
