The time to partay post-MCO style this Raya has finally arrived! After two years of not being able to properly celebrate Hari Raya (kudos to you guys for being such outstanding citizens!), we ended up missing so many things that we used to take for granted, even the boring ones. ?
We asked a few Malaysians to share what were some of the little things they rindu about Raya, and some of their answers amused the heck out of us! ?
1. “Never thought I’d be excited for the balik kampung jam & long queues at the R&R!”
Aslam, 31
“Even before I could drive, the thought of being stuck in the car for TEN HOURS just to balik Kuantan was a nightmare. ? But now, I see the traditional annual jam as a sign of the good times I can expect to have with family and friends. ☺️ Even so, I NEED to remember to bring an empty bottle for the jam, in case I cannot tahan my bladder! ??”
2. “No more bad reception during online catch-up calls!”
Lishana, 21
“Alhamdulillah I managed to stay close with my kampung childhood friends during MCO. When it was Raya, we had online video calls every day so that they can teman and celebrate with me. ? But ah, sometimes the line is so bad that we could barely hear or see each other! Then we’d have to end the call earlier and I’ll be left alone. ? Not anymore, because I can finally see them in person soon! Going to peluk my girlfriends so tight when I see them! ?❤️”
3. “Can’t wait to be in my peaceful and homely kampung!“
Inas, 25
“I used to think kampung life is SO boring! But after getting stuck in KL and working almost literally non-stop for two years straight, I started missing the old-timey and worry-free atmosphere of my hometown. ??
Tbh I rasa so burnt out. This is why I really look forward to getting away from the city: to finally spend time with family and nature, while I clear my head to figure out the next step in my life, InsyaAllah. ?”
4. “Now I have a reason to do actual Raya shopping in malls!”
Fadhlin, 33
“Since my family and I only celebrated online, I malas nak pergi shopping for new clothes when no one is going to see them. No point lah! ? Now that we konfem can balik kampung, I’ve been on a shopping spree for beautiful baju kebayas which I’ll DEFINITELY wear, as well as get gifts for my parents and adik-adik. ☺️
And of course, how could I ever forget to take #OOTD Raya pics with my girlsss?! ?”
5. “Finally going to use up ALL my replacement leaves for a two-week-long break!”
Zaid, 27
“I ALWAYS take one week off for Raya holidays, because I don’t see my family that often. But since I couldn’t see them for the past two Rayas, memang no reason to take extra off days lah – which is why I’m taking an extra-long Raya vacay this year! It’s like I’m using the replacement leaves of not celebrating previous Rayas to make up for it. ?”
What’s Raya without family or friends?
Malaysians memang going all out to have the most ons Raya this year like we’re making up for lost time. Even though we don’t say it out loud, it’s always better when we celebrate any happy occasion, especially Raya, with our friends and family. ? Goes to show how important the bonds we have in our life are.

B) Saving for future Rayas just got better!
At the end of the day, Raya isn’t just about spending; it’s also about saving for our future so that we can take care of ourselves and our loved ones. Thankfully, Maybank found a way to make saving even more fun!
Save & win up to RM110,000 in cash prizes when you and your loved ones Save & Grow Together-gether!
However, you can’t win the RM110k cash prize alone – you’ll need your loved ones’ help to unlock ALL six levels to win the grand prize!
Thus, you’ll need to invite as many of your friends and family members as possible to register for the Save & Grow Together-gether campaign! Only then will you unlock even more levels to reach the maximum cash prizes of RM110k! We’ve unlocked Level 3 already, so just two more levels then all of us will be in the running to win that RM110k!
Pretty fun family activity, right? Plus, you’ll even be encouraging them to start saving so they can win the cash prizes too! Sounds like a win-win!

Furthermore, you can easily apply for Maybank’s ASB Financing-i on Maybank2u fuss-free! That’s a convenient investment you can only get at Maybank.
