Dato Siti Nurhaliza is a highly respected figure in the music industry, considered a national treasure. Aside from her musical contributions, she actively participates in charitable causes as well.

In a recent Instagram post (@ctdk), she shared a press release addressing comments from Penang Mufti, Datuk Seri Wan Salim Wan Mohd. Noor, regarding the proximity of her concert to Ramadan.

In a statement released by the Penang Mufti, Wan Salim hopes that the renowned entertainer can reschedule the concert to another date, preferably not a few days before the onset of Ramadhan, which falls on March 12.

He further mentioned that Muslims are encouraged to seize the opportunity to multiply their religious deeds and engage in charitable activities.

In her press release, Dato Siti Nurhaliza shared that the Nurjiwa Foundation was notified by the Perbadanan Stadium Nasional management that the only available date for the entirety of 2024, which could be offered to them, is the 9th of March.

“For everyone’s information, our team has started making reservations with the Perbadanan Stadium Nasional since early 2023. However, the originally scheduled date is not feasible for us, so we are requesting a postponement by securing a new date.”

In her press release, it was also stated that the purpose of the concert is to raise funds to support 5 clusters of charitable work, including welfare, humanitarian efforts, religious causes, education, and special assistance for Palestine.

Datuk Ser Khalid Mohamad Jiwa says,

“Our commitment towards the war victims in Palestine has to continue since it started last October. Even a day or two of delay could bring further disaster to them. Therefore, Nurjiwa Foundation believes it is good to proceed with the concert to raise funds.”
