Several videos showing a car being swallowed by a sinkhole near Tanjong Katong Road, Singapore, have gone viral on social media, drawing attention from netizens in both Singapore and Malaysia.

One video captures a Mazda crashing into a collapsed section of the road near a worksite.

According to Singapore’s national water agency, PUB, the sinkhole formed around 5 pm at the junction of Tanjong Katong Road and Mountbatten Road.

The road collapsed, and the car’s female driver was rescued by the Singapore Civil Defence Force before being taken to Raffles Hospital.

In a corresponding aerial video, a helicopter view reveals how serious the situation could have been, as the sinkhole filled with water toward the end of the footage.

Reports indicate that the female driver is now in stable condition.
