CCTV footage has captured how a dialysis patient nonchalantly walks over to another patient and dousing him in petrol, before shuffling for a spark and lighting the ward ablaze.
The video shows how Lefter Canaj, 57, caused an incident that left three people – Canaj and two female patients – dead at a private American hospital in Tirana, Albania, as the flames engulfed the whole room.

Canaj allegedly left the ward in the morning, and returned back in 11am to carry out the attack.
Dressed in white in the footage, he is seen walking over calmly in the ward where four other patients are receiving treatment.
The man was so bold to carry the attack out when there were 4 other patients in the room, including one male nurse.

In one smooth motion, Canaj who first stood at the top left corner of the video, pulls out a bottle of fuel and throws it over Saraci, 38, who was in the midst of his dialysis treatment.
Saraci reacted quickly, and a tussle ensues. Canaj is then seen fumbling furiously for what seems to be a lighter, and quickly ignites the fluid, resulting in a deadly burst of flames.
CCTV footage is left obscured in thick black smoke and flames.
Apparently, Canaj had been involved in an argument with another patient Dashamir Saraci, who is currently fighting for his life. It’s believed that the motives behind Canaj’s attack was due to an argument with Saraci earlier that day while waiting to use the kidney dialysis machine.
The two women, Ms Sulaj and Ms Mal, died from asphyxiation, according to Albanian news site Albeu. Local media reported that Canaj died shortly after, several hours after he was arrested by police forces.
The hospital’s Facebook published a post, praising nurses for their swift action of helping extinguish the huge flames before firefighters arrived.
