An 18-year-old girl in Penang has gone missing, and her family fears she may have fallen victim to a job scam syndicate in Cambodia.
Her mother has contacted the girl’s boyfriend, who expressed concern about her whereabouts and feared she might have been lured into something sinister.

According to a report by China Press, the mother, Jiang, said her daughter, Hu Yi En (transliteration), had an argument with her boyfriend about three weeks ago and they have not reconciled since.
The boyfriend is currently working in Singapore. Jiang also mentioned that Yi En has always had a good relationship with the family and often joked around with her father.
“She has always been cheerful at home and rarely caused any concern,” Jiang said.
“We went on a trip to Hatyai, Thailand together in April. We were very happy. She showed no signs of wanting to leave home.”
“She was closer to her father. I spend a lot of time working,” she added.

Jiang said Yi En was last seen on Friday night (June 27), after leaving their home in Seberang Perai around 9 pm. She was seen getting into a red car and took her clothes and passport with her. Concerned for her safety, Jiang lodged a police report at 12:47 am on June 28.
She also reviewed CCTV footage from a neighbor’s camera, but unfortunately, the car’s registration number was unclear.
