Regardless of how close you are to someone, it’s wise to NOT put 100% of your trust into the connection. We never know when someone will unmask themselves and and turn his back on us, and it’s scary to even imagine the ill intentions someone may harbor towards us.
Just recently in Singapore, under the pretense of helping to get rid of ghosts, a 23-year-old man took the opportunity to rape and sexually assault his 25-year-old friend. The man told her that he was going to perform a ritual to get rid of the supernatural being but little did the victim know, it was never going to be a ritual.
CNA reported that the man pleaded guilty to 2 counts of rape and a count of sexual assault by penetration. For that, he has been sentenced to 18 years and 3 months of jail, including 16 strokes of a cane. All this, for a moment of pleasure. It is also reported that the man has been harboring romantic feelings towards the unfortunate victim.
Rekindled old friendship on Facebook
Both of them have known each other since high school and rekindled the friendship somewhere in 2019 through Facebook. The accused would drive the victim to and from work and have dinner with her and another friend.
The man told her that there was a spirit following her to the house, and said that he had been helping at a temple and was a medium or “God of Chang E’s rabbit”.
He assured the victim that as a medium, he had what it takes to perform rituals that would chase the evil spirits away. In the initial phases, the man would perform the rituals with the victim fully clothed. Subsequently, he told the victim to remove her clothes and he drew talismans on her body.
Unfortunately, that was when the sexual assault and rape took place, and the victim lodged a police report days later.
Rekindling an old friendship can be good for your mental health and happiness but always be wary about someone who appeared in your life years after being missing in action.
