With the rising number of cases involving scammers, Malaysians are urged to use the “Semak Mule” app. This app allows the public to check if a bank account or phone number belongs to a scammer.

The app was an initiative by the PDRM to help Malaysians to check if the owner of a bank account or phone number has any criminal records. The app was first launched in January of 2019. The app can be found on the Google play store.

Here’s how you can use the app to help identify the bank account or phone number that belongs to a scammer;

1. Download the “Semak Mule” app from the Google play store.

It is very simple and easy for anyone to be able to check. This can help to prevent even more scammer related cases in the country. According to Harian Metro, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said that in 2019, 28,508 cases involving online scams were reported amounting to an RM2.4 million loss.

With this app, now Malaysians can avoid getting involved in online scams.
