Member of Parliament (MP) for Kinabatangan and Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, passed away at a private hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, today (5 December) at 1:46 AM. He was 66.
Last night (4 December), Bung was reported to be in critical condition while receiving treatment at the hospital.

Bung’s passing was announced by his son, Naim Kurniawan Moktar, via a post on his official Facebook page.
“Assalamualaikum. It is with great sadness that we announce that our father, Moktar bin Radin, breathed his last on 5 December 2025 at 1:46 AM.”
Sabah UMNO Secretary Datuk Jafry Ariffin stated that Bung was suffering from kidney failure and a lung infection. Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah Tun Musa Aman took the time to visit Bung Moktar at the hospital at 11:30 PM last night.
Bung’s widow mourns his death with a heartfelt message
Bung leaves behind two wives, including former actress Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad, and 7 children.
In a heartfelt message, Zizie Izette wrote, “Some prayers don’t have words anymore, only tears and trust.”
“Tonight, I leave one beloved soul in Allah’s hands and let this moon carry what my heart can’t say out loud.”

The late Bung Moktar was born on 14 September 1959 in Kampung Bilit, Sukau, Kinabatangan, Sabah. He led Sabah BN in the recent Sabah State Election, winning 6 seats, including his reelection as the Lamag assemblyperson (ADUN).
