With all the activities carried out over the past weekend, Royal Canin representatives were especially passionate about their “Take Your Pet To The Vet” initiative, educating the minds of many pet enthusiasts at Pet World 2023.
We spoke with Ms Teh Meng Li, Royal Canin Malaysia’s Market Head, at an exclusive media roundtable that was held prior to Pet World 2023’s public opening. She talked about the importance of preventive veterinary care within Malaysia.
“In Malaysia, over 40% of pet owners don’t take their pet to the vet for regular check-ups and only take their pet to visit the vet when the pet is unwell; 15% do not even visit the vet at all!”
“As pets are secretive by nature and often only show signs of illness when it is well-advanced, hence veterinary visits should not be limited to only treating an illness or pain. Check-Ups should be done annually at a minimum.”
She added, “At Royal Canin, we believe that pets make our lives better and that our responsibility extends far beyond the quality of our products and services. Preventive healthcare, which includes prevention, early detection, and reducing the impact of a disease is critical to pets’ overall health and well-being.”
Present at the Royal Canin media roundtable was also Dr Dylan Choy, Royal Canin’s Scientific Communication Manager, who was notably thrilled to talk about the significance of pet nutrition through the different stages of life. This aligned with their “Start of Life” campaign, where they have since unveiled six product ranges including more than 70 products targeting puppies and kittens.
“The start of life period, from birth to adulthood, is a crucial period for a pet’s physical and behavioural development – puppies and kittens go through numerous stages that can have major impacts on their adult life later. Knowing this, our innovative products are formulated with the support of our partners for the benefit of puppies and kittens, as we believe that healthy nutrition starts from birth, forming a habit that leads right up to adulthood,” said Dr. Dylan.
Engaging activities such as in-booth games and free vet consultation rooms hosted by their dedicated team of pet health professionals further enhanced the experience for those who visited the exhibition, providing valuable insights into pet nutrition, behaviour, and overall wellness.
Overall, Royal Canin’s presence at Pet World 2023 served as an exceptional platform for pet owners and enthusiasts to gather knowledge, indulge in exciting activities, and celebrate their shared love for their furry companions. With smiles, laughter, and an abundance of information, customers left the exhibition armed with a deeper understanding of pet nutrition and a renewed commitment to their pets’ well-being.
