Have you ever built a sandcastle? Did you have elaborate concepts and names for the structures in your sandcastles?
Well, this bunch of friends do!
Recently, @blankslateworks shared on their TikTok page a video of them holding a sandcastle contest among a group of friends.
“We take sandcastle competitions VERY seriously,” the caption reads as the group prepares to give presentations of their sandy creations.
The video was so funny that it went viral, with netizens commenting on the funny descriptions each friend gave when presenting their sandcastle masterpiece.
The “transformer”
3 sandcastles were showcased in the video.
We are not sure if the first one can even be called a sandcastle, but the idea behind it is pretty cool!
It was a guy lying on the beach with sand covering his body up to his chest. His head was free, and his arms were outstretched on both sides of his body, forming a V shape.
“He will transform. When he hears a voice calling him, legs will appear,” said the group member who made this “sandcastle”.
The Guardian of the Galaxy
This sandcastle was the most complex. It had multiple structures of varying sizes and even a canal surrounding the city of sand and a wooden board to “cross” the channel.
“Some would say it’s Nordic, but I wouldn’t go so far,” a guy started before being quickly interjected by a friend who went, “Sorry, I don’t understand.”
Then, he proceeded to introduce the first inhabitant of their sand city.
“The first person, the first entity to live on our property: introducing the guardian of the galaxy. MR. KRABS!” he exclaimed mock-seriously.
Then, another group member proceeded to turn over a plastic cup, releasing a crab onto the sandy grounds of the made-up city and impressing everyone there.
Finally, the speaker asked another group member to pour some water into the sandcastle’s canal.
“Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming for the opening ceremony of THE COVE,” he said as the water flowed into the well-made ‘canal’.
‘Rome Day 1’
This final sandcastle may be our personal favourite! It is called Rome Day 1.
Similar to the second sandcastle, Rome Day 1 also has multiple structures that are different in size.
However, what makes it special is its design and the element of nature that the group has added to their project.
The sand structures had holes on their “walls” and twigs and leaves sticking out from the top, which gave this sandcastle something the first two did not have – colour and life.
“You know what they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day,” one guy said proudly, using the one-liner as his entire presentation.
Netizens are amused
In the comments, netizens found entertainment in a variety of things.
This contest is getting the inner child in us excited!
